An irrigation system here works a short, hard season. It has to come out of winterization without leaks, keep up through July without wasting water the whole valley is watching, and be blown out before the first hard freeze finds the line you forgot.
What we handle
Spring start up
We pressurize slowly, walk every zone, check heads, valves and backflow, and set the controller for how the season actually starts here.
In season tuning and repair
Broken heads, stuck valves, dry corners and soggy ones. Small faults waste a surprising amount of water before anyone notices from the porch.
Fall blowout
Compressed air through every zone before the freeze, controller shut down, backflow protected. Skipping it costs a cracked main in May.
Working with the water restrictions, not around them
Set to comply
Controllers are programmed to the current Teton County schedule from the start, so you are never the property getting a letter.
Then tuned down
Deep and infrequent beats a light sprinkle every evening. It grows tougher roots and uses less water doing it.
Checked all season
Our maintenance crews are already on site weekly, so faults get spotted and fixed rather than running for a month.
Part of the whole property
Irrigation decisions shape everything above them. We lay out zones for the lawn and the planting that is actually going in, and when we build something new the irrigation goes in with it rather than getting retrofitted around it later.
Most lawn problems here are water problems.
A system that was set correctly three years ago is rarely set correctly now. Heads drift, pressure changes, plantings mature and shade what used to be full sun. The result is usually one zone drowning while another goes dry, and turf that gets blamed for it.
Tuning a system to the property costs less than replacing turf, and in a valley with real water limits it is also the responsible way to run a landscape.

Adjusting run times as the season changes rather than setting a clock in June and leaving it. Heads corrected, coverage checked, leaks chased down.

Broken heads, cut lines, valve and controller problems. Damage from a shovel or a plow does not wait for a scheduled visit.
Fall
Blowout
Lines cleared before the first hard freeze. Skipping this is the single most expensive mistake a property owner here can make.

When should the system be blown out?
Before the first sustained hard freeze. In this valley that means planning for it in the fall rather than waiting for a cold snap to force the issue, because everyone else calls the same week the temperature drops.
Do watering restrictions apply to me?
They can. The Town of Jackson has imposed watering restrictions in past seasons, and rules vary by where the property sits and where the water comes from. We set schedules around what is in effect rather than around a default timer program.
Can you work on a system you did not install?
Yes. Most of what we service was put in by somebody else.
